Exercise 11 Recomendations

My Local Library is Kogarah Public Library, my recommendations that the library could make in regards to social media in relations to the various heading are:

Local Studies:

Kogarah Library could post up subjects like history or demographics on a page like Facebook and update it and could encourage people to comment on it teachers and students so that there's  more group participation and encouragement.

Students could also use  social media site like Prezi to make assessments, compare and review notes as to how to make their assessments better.

Children:

Kogarah Library could set up a learning system like games calibrated for children and then the children could contact other children about that game, and learn new skills.

Teenage/Youth:

Kogarah Library could advertise on social media sites like face book about upcoming events to do with the libraries i.e.: employability work shops.

Adult Fiction:

For this Section the library could host a website that enables readers of adult ficiton to compare books, add reviews, see upcoming books etc.

Information/Reference:

The Library could have links to various social media like Facebok that promotes some of it's databases, to promote the Library Information/Reference Section.

Exercise 10 Evaluation

My Local Library is Kogarah Library.

Social Media available via Kogarah Public Library under the main points are:

Local Studies:

Under the Local Studies Catalog your Kogarah Library Card can get you access to thousands of independent feature films using indie flix, which is a social media site that allows users to interact with others share and talk about movies.

Children's:

I couldn't find any social media related to Children's section in Kogarah City Library, a reason why is probably because children don't use/have a need for social media.

Teenage/Youth:

Kogarah Public Library is working on developing a social media app that gives young people information about the Kogarah Library, what's on and can allow them to contact various young people staff, and possibly older people that are involved with Kogarah Library.

Adult Fiction:

The Adult Fiction Section of the Kogarah Library has access to Good Reading Magazine, which keeps you up to date on your favorite books and magazine and has a website that enables you to interact with others about your favorite books and magazines.

Information/Reference:

Zinio is a social media website app that enables you to share and download magazines and talk to friends on that social media website.
